Data Table

I want to see if the amount of sonar solution used on herbs will change the rate of eradication of herbs. Purpose

Problem What amount of herbicide used on a herb would affect its eradication the most?

Materials Three Beakers Local pond water (Only if it has herbs in it.) Sonar Herbicide Ethanol Gloves Stirrer Analytical Balance

Hypothises I think the outcome will be that the beaker with the most sonar solution will have the highest rate of eradication.

Procedure Place pond water evenly into the three beakers about three-fourths the way. Label the beakers number 1, 2, and 3. Add 10ml of.5 gram per liter sonar solution into beaker number 1. Add 10ml of 1 gram per liter sonar solution into beaker number 2. Add 10ml of 2 gram per liter sonar solution into beaker number 3. Take notice of how the water looks before and after you’ve added the sonar solution. Take notice of the beakers every day. Take note of the order in which the beaker had the purest water in the fastest time

Graphs 1.0- Didn’t die 2.0- Did die 3.0- Dead

Beaker 3 proved to die the quickest, and beaker 2 following behind and at last beaker 1 with the least amount of sonar. Results

Conclusion Yes, the amount of herbicide does affect the rate of eradication of herbs. Now that I have proven my hypothesis to be right and my experiment to be correct I would like to suggest others who have ponds or lakes near their house to take care of the herbs in the waters. Having your water will allow many aquatic creatures to be present in your environment; it will also help you have cleaner water that you can use. This project may seem simple but it has a great deal of significance because of the effect it can have on water creatures near you and the environment around you, therefore affecting you. My hypothesis said that the beaker with highest amount of sonar will have the highest rate of eradication and I was right.
