3 Meet the Badger Badgers are gray with a while stripe from its nose, back over its head, ending between the shoulders. They measure 30 to 35 inches. They weigh 12 to 16 pounds.

4 Home Sweet Home They live in self made burrows. Enlarged grass lined sleeping areas are at the end of these. They like sandy soil. They like wooded areas. They are nocturnal.

5 Dinner Time Badgers have good hearing and smell that find food they usually eat rodents underground.

6 Adaptations Badgers do not hibernate like bears, but sleep for long periods of time in the northern states. They com out to eat as they don’t store food.

7 Fun Facts/Read More Some badgers have been known to share their den with a fox or coyote. I watched a video of a badger killing a snake and a lizard. It bit their heads off and ate them.
