Heat Capacity (Specific Heat) Video Questions 1.Describe the HEAT CAPACITY of water. 2.How does sweating cool down the human body?

1. Describe the heat capacity of water Water has a HIGH heat capacity This means that: it takes a lot of heat energy to raise the temperature of water. water can absorb a lot of heat before its temperature raises a significant amount

2. Explain why sweating cools down the human body When your body gets hot and you sweat, the HEAT ENERGY excites water molecules and breaks the HYDROGEN BONDS between them. Water molecules then EVAPORATE away and take the HEAT with them leaving you nice and cool.
