Drill and Practice  Characteristics  It provides items for the student to answer  Gives immediate feedback  Depending on the software and lesson-it will explain why the answer is correct  Criteria for effective drill practice  The student control the over all presentation rate  It provides feedback for correct or incorrect answers  Benefits  Gives immediate feedback  By doing the lesson it motivates students to do more lessons  When it comes to grading, it saves teacher a lot of time

Simulation  Two Types of Simulations:  Those that teach about something.  Those that teach how to do something.  Benefits of Simulation:  Physical Simulations, Iterative Simulations.  Compress Time, Slow down process.  Student Involvement; “What would you do”  Experimentation Safe; Physical Danger  The Impossible possible; Walk on moon, triggering a bomb. Summary  The great thing about all this education software is that the absolutely help students on their learning  There are so many types of programs available that is really hard to find something good for the students  Teachers need to keep up to date on every type of learning materials so they can help their students in everyway possible so that they are never behind in reading, math, writing, etc.
