The 1950’s The Catcher in the Rye Tessa, Holly, Taylor, Meagan

Holden’s life would be a lot different in today’s world, technology would play a much bigger role in his decisions making if the book was written in 2013.

Music in the 1950s The 1950s were a time of change for the music industry. Racial tensions were being strained with the beginning of the civil rights movement and the music reflected those tensions. R&B and Rock and Roll helped to bridge the gap between the white and black people and further the civil rights movement.

Pat Boone was made to cover Little John’s song “Tutti Frutti” and Boone’s version was rated higher on the charts.

King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley was thought to be the king of Rock and Roll by many and rose to fame after beginning a professional relationship with Sam Phillips.
