Project: All About the BASE! – This will count as a test/project grade. – Final work should be presented on poster board. – Choose the gift box situation or tent situation. – The dimensions of a rectangular prism are provided and you will need to create a different 3D figure that is not a rectangular prism. – Build and sketch the nets for each 3D figure. (Will not be to scale.) – Find the surface area and volume for each 3D figure. – Answer the Final Questions: A and B for your situation. – Follow the Rubric provided.

Tuesday, March 1 & Wednesday, March 2 Grade 7 Mock Math and Reading 7 th Graders

Getting ready... Physically and Mentally Get plenty of sleep the night before the test. Eat breakfast the morning of a test. Be on time and alert. Testing will begin immediately at 8:35. Put everything else out of your mind and think only of doing your best. Dress with layers. You may want to bring a jacket or sweatshirt in case the room is cold. If you wear glasses, be sure you have them and wear them!

Go to the restroom before coming to the testing room. Bring two sharpened # 2 pencils. Bring a highlighter if you use one. Bring a book or magazine to read in case you finish early. Leave your cell phone, smartwatches, and electronic readers in your locker. Don’t bring backpacks or homework.

Student IDs You must have your ID to enter your testing room. You must also be able to tell your testing teacher your ID number from memory. If you don’t have your ID when you get to school, immediately to the library and get one. DO NOT wait until 8:35.

Cell Phones The use of cell phones or other two-way communication devices is prohibited during testing for students and test administrators. The policy covers all cell phones as well as other electronic devices such as an iPod, Nook, Kindle, smartwatch, electronic dictionaries with internet access, etc. Keep your electronic devices in your locker during testing. They are not allowed in the testing room.

Testing Procedures ■ Only you are allowed to erase stray marks or darken answer-choice circles, and only during the scheduled test session. Please check your answer document carefully before you turn it in. ■ You must remain seated during testing. You are not allowed to talk to one another while test booklets are open. ■ You will have 4 hours in which to complete testing. ■ All responses must be recorded on your answer document by the end of the time limit. Periodically fill in your answer document. ■ You may take restroom breaks as needed, but the time clock will not stop for restroom or water breaks. ■ When you finish testing you must sit quietly and read.

During the test... Make sure you put your name and teacher’s name in the specified place on you test booklet. Read all directions. Understand what you are supposed to do. Ask the test administrator giving the test for help if you don’t understand the directions. Read questions carefully and ALL of the answer choices.

During the test... BE SURE the question number on the test is the same number you are marking on your answer sheet. You are not allowed to go to your locker or the library during testing.

Dictionaries and Thesauruses Dictionaries may be used for: – STAAR Mock Reading assessment

Answer Document As you answer questions in the test booklet, fill in your answer document. After the four-hour time limit, you may not mark answers on your answer document. Only the answers on the answer document will be graded. When you finish your test, check over each question and make certain you have answered each one. Erase any stray pencil marks. Bubble in only one answer to each question. Stay in the lines of the bubbles. Completely fill in bubbles. If you need to erase, erase cleanly.
