LOGO Preserving Our Culture for Eternity The Time Capsule

Introduction  You are to create a time capsule that will be sent to another planet. Your aim is to give a good illustration of our life here NOW. When your time capsule is opened by alien beings in the future and they look inside they should be able to get a good understanding of our culture from the contents inside. They should understand what life here on earth is like, and what the life of a young adult, such as you, is like. (If you do not like the idea of aliens, imagine instead that your time capsule will be opened by your ancestors hundreds of years in the future).

What You Need To Include Cultural Artifacts Explanations for Each Artifact A Map of Where You Live Illustrations of Each Artifact An Introduction & a Conclusion

Example #1  Houses  We live in a shelter called a house. It protects us from the elements outside such as snow, rain, wind and the cold. Our houses are split into various sections called “rooms”. Each room serves a specific purpose, we have bedrooms for sleeping, kitchens for cooking, and bathrooms for keeping ourselves clean (amongst other things). We spend a lot of time inside our houses and are very protective of them. I think houses are much better than the caves some of our ancestors used to live in.

Example #2  The Personal Computer  The personal computer is an important part of our everyday life. We use it for work, for school, and for fun at home. The present era is known as the “Computer Age” for good reason. Without computers our economy would collapse and life as we know it would not be the same. We shop, read, bank, communicate, research, create and express ourselves all using this marvellous invention.
