5 Current Situation 10/100 Ethernet ports as standard mode of Internet access on campus Explosive growth in peer-to-peer networking (non-academic?) Vigilant RIAA monitoring of compliance with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act

6 Potential Future Research and science re-emerging as key driver of bandwidth growth University-owned fiber will replace leased telco circuits Bandwidth becomes plentiful (and affordable) What about the RIAA? How does higher ed encourage appropriate Internet behavior and usage?
