Discussion Questions Discussion Questions 1. Please compare and contrast somatic cells and gametes. 2. What is the relationship between chromatin and chromosomes? 3. What is the relationship between sister chromatids and centromeres? 10/22/15 Journal Using your textbook, please answer the following:

1.Please compare and contrast somatic cells and gametes. Somatic cells – are any kind of body cell (stomach cell, nerve cell etc) Gametes – are sex cells (egg or sperm cells) 2.What is the relationship between chromatin and chromosomes? Chromatin – is the loose form of DNA normally not seen Chromosomes – are the coiled and condensed form of DNA seen during Mitosis 3.What is the relationship between sister chromatids and centromeres? Chromatids – are a chromosome and its copy Centromeres – are the part in the middle of the chromatids holding them together.

Discussion Questions Discussion Questions 1. Please describe the three substages of Interphase using the pictures below and your textbook. Youtube Interphase 10/21/15 Journal Using your textbook please answer the following:

Reminders *Test and Quiz make ups, tutoring during PLC on TUES and THURS Rough Draft of your Research plan is due on notebook paper or typed by 10/23. Follow the guidelines in your science fair packet If you are growing plants for Science Fair you need to start Start working on your Science Fair Laboratory Composition Notebook. Follow the instructions in your Science Fair packet carefully. It tells you exactly what to do and how to do it. Look at the judges grading rubric carefully as you complete your science fair Root quiz 10/30/15 (NEXT Friday) Cell, Cellular Transport, Cell Cycle, DNA Replication exam on Tuesday 11/3/15. JOURNALS due 11/3/15 also Daily quizzes resume today!!!

This and That Be sure to check our class website frequently! Especially if you’ve been absent or will be absent. Get any handouts you missed or lost from the website.
