The Invention of Velcro Date invented: 1941 My Invention project is on Velcro. The first person who invented Velcro was George de Mestral. He invented Velcro in He invented it while he was hunting. His trousers and dogs fur got caught to a bush that stuck like little hooks.

Inventor Name: George de Mestral ( ) There was a man named George de Mestral. He loved the outdoors and wanted to be an engineer, not the one that works on a train, but the one who designs new inventions.When he was finished with his studies,Mestral took a job in a machine shop of a Swiss engineering company. The burrs that got stuck to his wool hunting and dogs fur were annoying him because of the time it took to remove the burrs.
