PERSON PERSONIFICATION Giving Human Characteristics to Nonhuman Things Created by Lily Stanton for Mrs. Stephens’ 4th grade class

The teapot on the stove screeched when it finally got hot.

The morning sun peeked over the horizon.

One dark and stormy night, the wind howled through my window.

My extra small jeans struggled to stay buttoned all day.

The dark shadows in the alley way told me to turn around and run!

The tall grass danced in the breeze in the yard next door.

After a couple seconds of flickering, my kitchen light finally decided to turn on. Ok, I guess!

Her frown let me know she wasn’t a very happy camper.

The sand at the beach crawled in between my toes and up my nose.

When I opened my dryer door, it spit out a few socks onto the floor.

Once I found the treasure map, the big red “X” on it gave away the secret hiding place.

The large rock refused to budge.

The jack-o-lantern smiled at me from the top of the steps.
