There has again been very little financial activity this year. APRA no longer charges an annual membership fee so the only significant sources of income are donations and event takings. This year we were lucky to receive an Admin grant from Swindon Borough Council for the purchase of a PC and to cover future administration and printing costs. APRA has continued to keep costs down due to the generosity of individual members who have provided services such as printing and website maintenance along with prizes and refreshments at events free of charge. Alexandra House generously provide facilities for meetings and events, again without charge, and insurance for events has been provided by Swindon Borough Council utilising S106 monies, although this will not continue forever. The Committee feel that APRA is correct and prudent to retain a modest surplus of funds to allow it to cope with any unforseen circumstances and to continue to provide events for the benefit of residents.
