Excel Tutorial 9th Grade FACS

Access Excel from the Start Menu.

Columns: Letters are used to identify columns. Rows: numbers are used to identify rows. Spreadsheets are made up of *columns *rows *and their intersections are called cells Cell

In each cell there may be the following types of data: text number data

Compile and enter your data. Follow the above format as a guide.

To Create A Chart

Click on the Chart Wizard Button.

The chart wizard should appear and you can make your selection. We are going to use the column choice for now. Click on NEXT.

A dialogue box will then come up asking for the range of cells for the data. Click on data range box. Data range box

Choose the cells that have the data in them you want to display. Notice how they appear in the dialogue box at the top of the spreadsheet. Click on the range of cells box again.

Click Next.

Name chart “Class Wish List” and click on NEXT.

Make sure you are placing the chart as an object in your spreadsheet. If you are sure of this, click on Finish.

Your chart should then be placed on your spreadsheet along with your data. Grab and place your chart where it looks best on your page.

Delete Series box for chart area. Print and turn in.
