Homecoming 2015 A GUIDE TO EVENTS, TICKETS, AND PROPER DRESS AND BEHAVIOR

Spirit Week Information: Monday and Tuesday Spirit Week-all must be in uniform from the waist down! Monday: ◦GENERATION DAY – each grade level will be asked to dress up from different age groups or “generations.” ◦Freshmen – babies ◦Sophomores – Toddlers ◦Juniors – young adults ◦Seniors – senior citizens Tuesday: ◦CLASS COLOR WARS DAY – Each grade level will be asked to dress up according to their assigned color ◦Freshmen – white ◦Sophomores – Gold ◦Juniors – Blue ◦Seniors – Black

Spirit Week Information: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday Wednesday: ◦TWIN DAY – Each student should find a twin at Murphy and dress alike to the point of where it’s almost impossible to tell them apart Thursday: ◦SPIRIT DAY/BLUE AND GOLD DAY – wear PBIS shirts for Blue & Gold day Friday: THROWBACK DAY – students are to take us back into time to whenever they think the styles were best. ◦90’s ◦80’s ◦70’s ◦ETC.

Dance Information Date: 23 October 2015 Place: Mobile Cruise Terminal ◦ (Canal Street, $5 parking) Time:7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

Dance Tickets: Sale Dates and Procedures  The HC Ticket Pre-sale will be on Saturday, Oct. 17th from 8-11 a.m. in the Math building. The presale prices are$20 single or $40 for couples.  Regular ticket sales will be during the lunch waves outside of Culinary on Monday, October 19th through Wednesday the 21st. Regular prices are $25 single or $50 for couples  No tickets sold at school after the lunch wave on Wednesday.  Cost at the door is $40 per person.  We DO NOT provide Refunds - Tickets are non-refundable

Bringing a guest? Follow these rules!  Couples' tickets are sold ONLY to those bringing a non-Murphy DATE; friends are not allowed, only DATES. If you have a friend who you want to attend, then you will need to find that friend a Murphy date.  In addition, completed guest request forms with attached photocopied ID will be required in order to purchase a couples' ticket.  Guest Forms are in Culinary on the table with other school forms.  Middle school students, adults over 20 years of age, and high school drop-outs will not be allowed to attend as guests.

Dress Code for Ladies  The Homecoming dance is not a formal affair. This means that ladies can wear anything from a nice “Sunday” dress or skirt and blouse, to a sparkly party dress.  Usually dresses are not floor length—hems go from mid-shin to mid-thigh.  Cut-outs, deep open necklines, and low open backs are NOT allowed.  Remember—this is a school dance, not a Mardi Gras adult ball!  Wear shoes that you can DANCE in!

Dress Code for Gentlemen  Again, this is NOT a formal dance. This means that gentlemen can wear anything from a dress shirt and nice slacks with or without a coat and tie, to a suit and tie, to a tuxedo.  Check with your date and dress to complement your date.  Leave your baseball caps and other hats at home.  Wear dress shoes, NOT tennis shoes or slides.  No blue jeans, jogger pants (elastic at ankle), or sagging pants.

How to have fun at the dance  Remember that this is a school function—follow the rules!  Visit with friends and school staff.  Admire the decorations made by the Art Department.  Thank your SGA for organizing the dance.  Take pictures!  Dance!  Let your teachers see you at your best!
