The Gallimarkt Every year in October the Gallimarkt with food stalls and rollercoasters takes place. This year we celebrated 507 years since the first Gallimarkt. A presentation by Sarah-Alice B.

The Plytenberg In the west of Leer there is a little hill, the Plytenberg. It is oval, 9 metres high and 56 – 62 metres wide. In the 15th century it was a hill to provide a view to the castle in Leerort. A presentation by Sarah-Alice B.

The myth of the Plytenberg 500 years ago, on the Plytenberg lived meerkats. On that hill was a castle with King Radbots' treasure. The people liked the meerkats and when they needed help, they cried: “Meerkat, Meerkat, help me! Come to my house, I'll be there!“ A presentation by Sarah-Alice B.

The Christmas Market In December we have a Christmas Market. It starts on the 1st Advent. Every evening Santa Claus opens one door from the Advent Calendar on the Commerzbank.
