Sustainability awareness Upon becoming aware of sustainability issues, I was compelled to seek out (and photograph) the environmentally-conscious efforts I encountered this spring. Through institutions and businesses, there are large-scale operations here in Louisiana that are geared mostly toward recycling, which is a vital component of sustainability. Interestingly, in many western states, there seems to be a collective environmental awareness that urges personal responsibility and participation.
