AkASL Goals  Highly Qualified Librarians  School Library Collection Development  Grant Certification  Supportive Network  Advocacy of Teacher-Librarian Programs  Information Literacy Standards

Legislative Goals  AkASL supports the recruitment and retention of highly qualified school librarians through legislation (SB 23, HB 30, HB 54) that restores a defined benefit retirement plan.  AkASL supports full funding of the state library, including capital funding of the Library Archives Museum project.

SCHOOL LIBRARY COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT GRANT An annual grant of $3,000 to be made available to Alaskan school libraries. Not funded in the State Library Budget We need to gear up and get supportgear up Make personal connections with your legislators!!!!
