Temperature and Heat. Temperature Kinetic energy is the energy that matter has due to the movement of that matter or within the matter Kinetic energy.
We can all tell what is hot and what is cold. We use our sense of touch to tell us if things are hot or cold. We can feel what is hot and what is cold.

THERMOMETER BY AUDI NAONI AZIZSOL CLASS 7C

KINDS OF THERMOMETER Many kinds of thermometer are: a)Clinic thermometer b)Wall thermometer c)Six- Bellani Maximum and Minimum thermometer

A. CLINIC THERMOMETER The scale of the themometer is designed from 35°C until 42°C It ussually used to measure a human body temperature

B. WALL THERMOMETER It has two measurement scales, are Celcius and Fahrenheit scales It is used to measure a room temperature

C. SIX- BELLANI MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM THERMOMETER It is used to measure a maximum and minimum temperature

ADVANTAGE OF ALCOHOL AND MERCURY THERMOMETER Advantage of: a) Alcohol thermometer - alcohol is cheaper than mercury - it can measure a low temperature (130°), because its freezing point is low - it can measure the temperature precisely, because it has large expansion coefficient - the expansion is regular b) Mercury thermometer - this is visible, because its colour is silvery shining - its expansion is regular - it doesn’t make wet the wall of its place - it can measure a high temperature (360°), because its boiling point is high - it can measure the temperature quickly and precisely -mercury can measure low temperature (-40°)

DISADVANTAGE OF ALCOHOL AND MERCURY THERMOMETER Disadvantage of: a) Alcohol thermometer -it cannot measure a high temperature, because its bolling point is low (78°) -it makes wet the wall of its place -it is colourless so it must be given dyestuff in order to be visible b) Mercury thermometer -it cannot measure very low temperature, because its freezing point is high (-40°C) -mercury is poisonous, so its harmful if its tube is broken -its prices is very expensive
