What is malaria? Malaria is a deadly disease that attacks 300 to 500 million people each year. It is mainly a disease of poverty and attacks children under the age of five. Malaria are mostly found in Africa, Asia and South America as shown in the map.

What makes malaria so dangerous? Falciparum malaria is dangerous deadly disease. It causes fever, headache, vomiting and other flu-like symptoms. Malaria kills by infecting and destroying red blood cells (anaemia) and by clogging the capillaries that carries blood to the brain (cerebral malaria) or other vital organs.

Method Find out what type of protection there are for malaria already and how effective they are. Find what –if any- type of vaccine there are to protect people from falciparum malaria.

Thanks for listening to our presentation. We hope you enjoyed it.
