Presentation transcript:

Pick up a “Directions for Democracy” packet from the front table by the door. See if you can complete the “Breaking It Down” section from memory as you wait for everyone else to get ready for today’s assignment. Do not use your notes; test your memory!

Take two minutes to skim over the first three pages of the packet. After you look at each picture, I want you to do a quickthink. That means that you need to say to yourself what your first impression of that picture is. Write down each quickthink next to each picture. This packet is yours, so don’t be afraid to write in it.

Moving on…. Please move into reading groups of three. We will be triad reading and quickthink writing through this packet. When you have finished the quickthinks for each picture, get moving!

Our final activity is a race today. I am going to give each group a listing of amendments. Your job is to get them taped in the right place on the cabinets correctly and quickly.

In whatever groups you deem necessary, complete the Vocabulary, Five W’s and an H, and Categorize sections of the worksheet on the back of your packet. We will grade this paper first thing Monday morning. If you cannot get it finished and turned in today, you will need to complete it this weekend.
