REFORMS TO VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATION FOR YEAR OLDS Professor Wolf’s Review of Vocational Education for year olds published in March The Department for Education launched consultations from May 2011 and the corresponding reforms from September 2012, following Wolf’s recommendations. Important reforms were approved in December These reforms do not impact 2015 performance tables, so students in 2-year BTEC level 3 courses which started from September 2013 are not affected.

APPLIED GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: Level 3 qualifications (advanced) which provide a broad study in Construction, Planning and the Built Environment. They fulfil entry requirements to a range of HE courses and need the backing of a minimum of three universities. They do not count towards the new Technical Baccalaureate (Tech Level) measure. TECH LEVELS QUALIFICATIONS: Level 3 qualifications in Construction, Planning and the Built Environment. They are comparable to A Levels.
