·INTRODUCTION. ·VOLUNTARY PEOPLE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. ·NATURAL SPACES. ·PHOTOGRAPHS OF NATURAL SPACES. ·WHO’S IN CHARGE OF THE ENVIRONMENT? ·TOURISTS. ·THE END.

A 40% of Majorca is covered by the natural protected areas. Environmental impact influence in sea, the coast…

The organisation of “GOB” has activities for the summer of people between 16 and 30 years old that help the environment to protect the naturals spaces and the ones for species too, the use of sustainable natural resources like: consume and alimentation, water, energy, residues…) and environmental education.

In Majorca we only have a 1,7 % of the territory of naturals protected parks. Some of these parks are: -The Mondragó Park: is located near Santanyí. It’s a beach of 785 hectares. In 1992 was proclaimed a natural park. -The Dragonera: is an island placed in the western end of Majorca. In 1996 was proclaimed a natural park. -The Albufera of Majorca: is located between Alcúdia and Can Picafort. It has 400 different species of flora and over 230 birds species.

THE ALBUFERA

Sir. Miquel Àngel Grimalt Vert is in charge of the environment of Majorca. He is one of the staff members from the town hall of Manacor.

The visitors are taking their doll on Majorca's environment. Beaches are being damaged as every day huge quantities of sand are accidentally taken back to hotels on people's feet. The boom has brought traffic jams and pollution, too. Too many holiday-makers means too much rubbish and a critical lack of water. In conclusion, we can say that tourism can affect positively or negatively.

We have arrived to the conclusion that the worst activity that helps to the environment impact is the tourism but now this it’s more controlled than before. This has been our power point of environment impact in Majorca. We expect that you have enjoyed it a lot! =)
