URBANIZATION BY: MIKE CHABOT AND LUKE CLARK

WHAT IS URBANIZATION  Urbanization- The quality or state of being urbanized or the process of becoming urbanized

THE PROBLEM DIRECTLY Famine, the more people there are, the less food there is. Unemployment, the more people there the less jobs. Due to the lack of jobs, many people become homeless. Drugs

THE PROBLEM INDIRECTLY Ice Glaciers are melting due to the global warming affected by burning fossil fuels, oil, and coal. Urbanization is the main source of global warming because of factories and industries.

WHEN? 3,500-4,000 B.C. first large cities (population of about 25,000) were established in Mesopotamia.

WHERE? Mesopatamia was one of the first recorded cities.

WHY? Industrialization was on the rise so everyone wanted to move closer to their jobs and out of the suburbs, away from the farms. They also wanted to move closer to ports.

USA (MURRICA) In the Untied States of America any area of 2,500 people are considered an Urban place. Therefore Pittsfield is consider an urban place with 44,427 place.
