To Date… & 2014 – Approximately 10% of tests delivered are for couples / partners – First test for ~ 50% within couples – Most tests for African communities – “Easier” message within Faith groups Sero-discordance – Opportunity for HIV+ people to disclose Feedback – significant increase in trust and confidence

This isn’t a common approach… Why is it so hard? – Concern about breaching confidentiality – “It will take too much time” – “I don’t do couples counselling” Why we should…. – It is what many couples / partners want – Outcome is worth more than time taken Highly empowered partners Open discussions mean issues are confronted “What if’s” are addressed and way forward identified – Confidentiality and coercion concerns addressed
