Spectrometer A spectrometer is an instrument used by scientist to study the Sun and other stars. This instrument splits the light given off by a star into a band of colors like a rainbow.

Equinox An equinox is the time when the sun crosses the plane of the earth's equator, making night and day of approximately equal length all over the earth and occurring about March 21 (vernal equinox or spring equinox) and September 22 (autumnal equinox) An equinox is the time when the sun crosses the plane of the earth's equator, making night and day of approximately equal length all over the earth and occurring about March 21 (vernal equinox or spring equinox) and September 22 (autumnal equinox)

Asteroid The definition of an asteroid is a rocky mass that orbits the sun.

Corona a ring of colored light seen around a luminous body, as the sun or moon, formed by the diffraction of light caused by mist, dust, etc.

Penumbra/Umbra Penumbra The definition of a penumbra is the lighted area around the shadow of a planet or moon during an eclipse. Umbra The definition of a umbra is the shadow of Earth while an eclipse.
