Daily Learning Goal 1.2 Evaluate the importance of the Enneagram within spirituality and predict the personal challenges and benefits that it provides.

What is an Enneagram? In the LAP 1 Compendium, in a section from Enneagram- spirituality.com, Enneagram is defined as: – “system that groups human behavior into nine basic types.” – Dictionary.com defines enneagram as: “a system of spiritual psychology based on an ancient Sufi typology of nine personality types or primary roles with the recognition of one's type tantamount to a spiritual awakening.”

Different Types of Enneagrams According to the Enneagram Institute, there are 9 different types of enneagrams. – 1. The Reformer – 2. The Helper – 3. The Achiever – 4. The Individualist – 5. The Investigator – 6. The Loyalist – 7. The Enthusiast – 8. The challenger – 9. The Peacemaker

Enneagram Within Spirituality Enneagrams have to do with our personality which then deals into our spirituality. Our personality reflects how each of us deal with our spirituality. How we choose to accept our personality can also show in our spirituality as well as our relationship with others.

Enneagrams: Compare and Contrast Challenges Accuracy of personality. Accepting a personality type we may not like and then how we deal with that in the real world. Some personality types are self absorbed and show that we push people, and spirituality, away from our lives. Benefits Characteristics allow us to evaluate our spirituality in different ways. Brings out the best of our personalities. Helps characterize relationships. Helps understand our choices, including spiritual ones.

Personal Connection When I took the Enneagram test on the Enneagram Institute website, I can up with a tie between 3, the achiever, and 6, the loyalist. I thought this described me very well because I work hard and am very driven. At the same time, I am loyal to my friends and my family while also being dependable among the people who need me.
