Spacing is the feeling of space in a drawing or painting. Artists combine the use of light and dark value with other techniques. Some of these are: simple overlapping, ladder perspective, linear perspective, and atmospheric perspective(optical perspective). Linear Lines are lines that recede into a vanishing point. Ladder perspective is seeing the object from below. Atmospheric perspective is having a Ariel view and you feel the atmosphere the artist has created. Positive space is the subject of the artwork. Negative space is everything around, and between the subject. SPACING

Linear Perspective.Atmospheric Perspective. Ladder Perspective.

Texture is how the art work or object feels. EX: A rock can have a smooth texture or a rough texture. When looking at two dimensional art you feel visual textures. This sponge has three dimensional texture. The image on the right is an example of two dimensional texture. TEXTURE

Emphasis is when the artist makes part of their work stand out, in order to draw the viewer's eye’s there first. This Is usually achieved by adding contrast to a certain point or making one specific area very alluring or if it has the most detail. Focus Point is where your eye directly goes. EMPHASIS
