Definition SMART goals help improve achievement and success. A SMART goal clarifies exactly what is expected and the measures used to determine if the goal is achieved and successfully completed.
Specific and Strategic Answers the questions “WHO?” and “WHAT?”. Ask the question, “Can I easily state my goal?”
Measureable Addresses the question “HOW?”. How will I know when I’ve reached my goal?
Attainable / Achievable Answers the question, “Is this REASONABLE?” Can the goal be accomplished?
Relevant and Realistic Answers the question, “What is the expected result?” How will this goal help me achieve????
Time frame Answers the question, “When?” When does this goal need to be completed?
