The Civil Rights Movement was a move forward so African Americans could have equal rights. Martin Luther King lead the March to Washington in This was the largest demonstration for jobs and freedom.

 Washington D.C.  Marched peacefully starting at the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial

 Martin Luther King, Jr. gave the “I Have a Dream Speech”  250,000 black and white Americans marched together singing and celebrating changes.  Josephine Baker introduced several African American women fighters  Rosa Parks and Floyd Mckissick were two civil rights leaders who marched with the other 250,000 people

 T he March on Washington was a demonstration for jobs and freedom for African Americans.  250,000 black and white Americans marched together, singing and celebrating.

 The march was largest demonstration ever seen in the nation’s capital.  It was one of the first to have extensive television coverage  Dr. King delivered his “I Have A Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial

 Political climate that allowed enactment of civil rights bill and more fully appreciation the determination and skillful way the Civil Rights Movement was created.  People involved are respected across this nation and around the world.  President Kennedy promised to support the Civil Rights Bill, but was assassinated.  Lyndon Johnson past the Civil Rights Act of 1964
