Lessons Lessons designed for 7 th and 12 th Grade Students Five Lessons – One: Framework and Function of County Government – Two: Primary Services Offered by County Government – Three: Justice Process at the County Level – Four: Elections and Voting – Five: Financing County Government

Activities Two grade levels of activities included in curriculum – Set for 7 th Graders – Set for 12 th Graders Total of five activities per grade

Included in the Curriculum In addition to the Curriculum, it includes: – Wall Map of Texas Counties – DVD which includes: Curriculum and Activities Videos on the various roles of elected officials and their offices.

Implementation Each county office is provided two copies: – One for County Extension Office to use in marketing and introduction to county school districts – One copy for 4-H Coordinator/Extension Staff to present to County Judges Office/Commissioners Court to let them be aware of program. Elected Officials may be asked, as part of the curriculum, to come and speak about roles and responsibilities.
