FUTURE SHOCK Abigail A. Raynes BSE-3D
Technology tends to be uncontrollable. It seems like it doesn’t have any limit or in other words it is a continuous process. It evolves every day, every hour, every minute and even just a second. There are a lot of aspects that technology had invaded. It influences cultural changes in the family, societies, business, government such as what he calls the throw-away society, modular man, kinetic image, scientific trajectory, fractured family, surfeit of sub cults, psychological dimension, etc. through what we so-called “technology evolution”. TECHNOLOGY
Technology before Technology today
As time goes by, as modernization takes place, we tend to cope and adapt with this rapid change. In the short film that was shared to us by the reporter which is entitled “FUTURE SHOCK”, it depicts and gives us hint about the these radical change that may happen in the near future. There are different varieties of technology that was used unto different purposes. Some used it for the benefits of others while some are using it just to satisfy their own. There is a certain part of the video clip that had catch my attention. It made me think, how technology affects most likely the behavior of the people that is living in that advance world.
This is the changes in the culture of the society. Many things differ from the way it was. The teenagers seem to be so addicted to technology that sometimes resulted to crimes. It is because of the misusage of technology. In the short film it shows the behavior of people. And it is alarming for me because it just promotes dehumanization and in some point, immorality which is not acceptable in today’s society.
People in the future
Society is greatly affected by the advancement of technology. This is a sign of progress and development. The things that was impossible today, can be possible tomorrow. But if it results to fractured family, a throw-away society and others negative effects, we must probably don’t embrace all of it. Just come to think of it, if technology goes that way, no one would appreciate the beauty of God’s creation nor be grateful to God because they become so dependent to technology. Always remember, “Do not let technology to control you. Instead let yourself control technology”.
