The Greeks were the first people who came up with an idea about slavery/immigration. Other countries like Rome took the idea of slavery/immigration and added on to it.

CHEAP LABOR Romans would get their slaves from the wars that they had and they would capture them. The Romans would have their slaves do anything they would tell them, which equals to cheap labor.

Results of Immigration/Slavery For Rome Less jobs available for local citizens Over populated land Many coulters Many languages Racial problems Unhappy families

Slavery Treatment Rome had the most slaves Very dependent on them Reasonable treatment of slaves was necessary. Slaves were given many privileges Comfort, good clothes, descent food Masters showed their loyalty by giving their slaves the right to have their own money.

US Immigration Major source of population Culture change Less jobs available for citizens Different languages Racial problems More crime

Against Illegal Immigrants Captured and deported No legal rights on US land No public education No legal jobs

12.7 million immigrants 32% of all living immigrants are Mexicans 55% of Mexican immigrants are in USA illegally 5% Filipinos

Conclusion United States seems like followed Romans footsteps to the path of greatness. Both immigrants and Roman slaves did the cheap labor. United States took Romans ideas but are still different in some ways.
