Introduction  Franny Hansen is the main character through the whole book but there are more characters in the book. I am saying that she pops up the most in the story. Franny plays the piano and spends a lot of time practicing on the piano. She is 10 years old and gets in a lot of trouble in the beginning of the book but has to improve to be the Star piano player of Rusty Nail.  Rusty Nail is like a small town in Minnesota.  Franny’s father wants her to be famous because she is like Mozart. Mozart is a famous composer and pianist.

Problem Franny needs to find a new piano teacher so she can learn to be a better piano player.

Part of the solution Franny and her friend spy on Olga Malenkov who moves in a neighbors house. Olga is a famous Russian pianist who is not a communist but Franny and the town think she is. Franny sees instruments and a grand piano. Franny comes up with an idea to trick Olga into giving Franny piano lessons.

Liked or thought  I liked that the book is very easy to understand.  It is very easy to picture the story.  I thought that the author used very good details and that her words act exactly like the character that is speaking.  I thought that the story itself was very good and lots to explore in the book.

Closing If you want to find out the rest of the story ……. You have to read The Rising Star of Rusty Nail!
