RENE-ROBERT LASALLE FRENCH EXPLORER

Who was our Explorer  Rene-Robert LaSalle was born in Rouen France. Death March He died near Brazos river. At the age of 15 Rene-Robert move to Paris to begin training as a Jesuit priest. He wanted to become a explorer rather a priest. He left Jesuit school. In 1666 he sailed on a ship too New France.

What my explored did  My explorer explored Michigan and Canada and the golf of México. He was looking for the north west passage that was on the Mississippi river. He also tried to explore the Ohio river.

When My Explorer Explored  He went exploring In 1666 looking for a Northwest Passage.  LaSalle claimed Louisianan for France on April 9 th,  He explored Lake Michigan in  In 1679 he went on abandoned expedition.

Why my explorer explored  LaSalle explored because he wanted to become a priest.  He was looking for a water passage to the East through North America.  He didn’t find it the first time, but the second he did.  LaSalle failed the first time because they saw something horrible. He saw the Senacas and kill an Native American warrior. So he turned back.

How he got along with the Native Americans  LaSalle knew some of the Native American language.  He traded fur with the Native Americans.  LaSalle tried to convert the Native Americans to believe in Christianity.  LaSalle had peace with the native Americans.  We think this because the Iroquois agreed to peace shortly before LaSalle arrived.  The Native Americans taught him there language.  The French were allies of the Algonquins.

Where he Explored  Rene-Robert explored New France.  He also explored the Mississippi River.  When he was trying to find the Mississippi River again he didn’t find but he got stranded in the Matagorda bay and Texas.
