Senior Project For my senior project I would like to contribute to the research being done to improve our global health.

Top 3 Diseases affecting the world HIV/Aids Malaria Tuberculosis

HIV/AIDS HIV is a virus. Viruses infect the cells of living organisms and replicate within those cells. A virus can damage the cells it replicates in, which is one of the things that can make an infected creature become ill. Then it can eventually turn into AIDS. This affects men, women and children worldwide. There are 5 million new cases each year. Also 4 million deaths each year

Malaria An infective disease caused by sporozoan parasites that are transmitted through the bite of an infected Anopheles mosquito. Prominent in developing countries like Africa million new cases each year million deaths each year

Tuberculosis An infectious disease caused by the tubercle bacillus and characterized by the formation of tubercles in body tissues, especially in the lungs. Affects men, women and children worldwide. There are 8 million new cases each year Also 2 million deaths worldwide

Conclusion I am currently in a program at the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute where we learn about these infectious diseases and the research being done on theses diseases. We also do different labs. Hopefully I will be able to help with the research in the future.
