 Simmons College located in Boston, MA  Undergraduate Office of Admissions- Higher Education Industry  Responsible for recruitment and reviewing applications and making admission decisions about potential candidates for Simmons  Competition: Other colleges in the Boston area  11 employees in the office

 Ambassador Program Coordinator Intern  Oversee the Student Ambassador Program which includes:  Campus tours  Scheduling weekly tours  Planning Admission events such as President Brunch and Open Houses  Hiring and training new Student Ambassadors  Support the Admission Counselor on administrative tasks (travel arrangements, budget reimbursements)  Work is located in a group area and is monitored by

 Started training for internship during the summer  Training was hands on, individual guidance from supervisor  Conducted a R&D project researching competitor campus tour programs  Manager was open and willing to answer any questions  Office environment was welcoming and professional

Difficulties:  Heavy travel season for Admission Counselor  New management  Schedule changes To overcome difficulties:  Weekly check-in meetings/ constant communication  Be adaptable to change, open  Be proactive in maintaining the tour schedule

 Career plan is to work in the field of Management  Goal with the internship is to achieve skills in managing people and a process  Can add to my resume: Managing people, conflict resolution and time management skills  The most beneficial aspect of the internship is the ability to hold a leadership role and to see positive changes in the admissions office
