I NTRODUCTION Does anyone know why I can bring Solo to school? I will be talking about why there are guide dogs for the blind and what I train them. I am qualified because this is my third guide dog for the blind I have trained.

W HAT IS G UIDE D OGS FOR THE B LIND Is a non-profit organization Train dogs to guide the blind Main reason is safety for the blind

H OW TO BEHAVE AROUND A G UIDE D OG OR A G UIDE D OG IN TRAINING. If the dogs have a vest on they are working. ALWAYS ask to pet the dogs before hand Do not distract the dogs. If there is a working guide ignore it

W HAT I TRAIN THE DOGS Basic obedience: Sit Down Stand Wait Stay Come Lets go That’s enough Ok Do your business

W HAT HAPPENS NEXT Keep the dogs for about a year Go back to California/Oregon 10 phases of training In class training/ in home training Graduation Retirement Career Change
