The chemical make up of the substance and the processes used to make it Modern day balling balls are made from a three-piece construction. – Inner core – Outer “filler” core – And a shell (or cover shock, in bowling lingo) These three pieces work in concert to achieve the ultimate in success on the bowling lanes-the strike.

How the chemicals come together to make what we see as normal everyday stuff These chemicals come together as normal everyday stuff by creating a bowling ball. Rubber and Plastic are part of our everyday life. Rubber: tires Plastic: bottles

The history of the substance and what advances have been made over the years to improve what we have today The game was invented by the ancient Egyptians, who made their bowling balls by craving stones. The advancement today is they make the balls with the three-piece construction. Nine pin bowling was outlawed in some states during the 1800’s because it was associated with heavy gambling. The advancement is the addition of a tenth pin (arranged in the now common triangular pattern) to circumvent the law.

How the existence, discovery, or development of this substance affects our lives today. List the consumers (who) and the uses (what) of this substance The development of Bowling gives quality time to families. There is a strong and inextricable relationship between the ever changing scientific description of reality and the way in which human begin define themselves with that reality.

List 2 addition useful websites or sources of information on this substance
