Georgia Studies Lesson Plans December 5, 2011 OPENING: Review Formal and Informal Powers of the Governor (Power Point) Graphic Organizer EQ: What is the role of the judicial branch in Georgia government? GPS:SS8CG1- The student will describe the role of citizens under Georgia’s constitution. SS8CG2-The student will analyze the role of the legislative branch in Georgia state government SS8CG3- The student will analyze the role of the executive branch in Georgia state government SS8CG4-The student will analyze the role of the judicial branch in Georgia state- government. WORK SESSION: Guided Reading- Sections 3 and 4 Pages Activity Sheet: Basic Legal Terms/ Knowledge of Georgia’s Government Review CLOSING: JUSTICE- What does the word mean or implies to you?
