What is life like for a typical plant? 1.Do plants eat? 2.Do plants drink? 3.Do plants breathe? 4.Do plants have babies? Plants BY: Miranda Tang, Nina Liu and Jasmine NG

Do plants eat? -plants make their own food -photosynthesis -sugar

Do plants drink? Why do Plants Drink water? -nutrition and cooling -can’t survive at hot temperature -absorb carbon dioxide to growth Roots Vascular System Leaf

Do Plants Breathe? Yes and no… The process of cells using oxygen and getting rid of carbon dioxide is called respiration. Plants have very small holes on the underneath of leaves, called stomata, which let the carbon dioxide and oxygen in and out in a process called diffusion. Plant cells respire as well, using oxygen and getting rid of carbon dioxide. Plants also use carbon dioxide when they make food from the sun’s energy and this makes oxygen – this is called photosynthesis. During the day, the plant cells photosynthesis more than they respire, so they get rid of more oxygen than carbon dioxide. During the night, the plant cells respire more than they photosynthesis, so they get rid of more carbon dioxide than oxygen.

Do plants have babies? -seeds -store in the ovary part in plants
