Tambir Ahmed - A42134 SOCIAL IMPACTS IN IT

LOCAL COMMUNITY As the local community use the computers and internet to socially interact with others, Having IT in the community is needed as students will need IT as they may use it as a learning resource. Not having IT impacts the community as then local schools and businesses will not be as enhanced as the communities, which can be a huge disadvantage as then they may not have any knowledge in IT and this could affect them when applying for jobs. Tambir Ahmed - A42134

AVAILABILITY OF JOBS Jobs will be cut, for example in the secondary sector, employee’s are being replaced by computers and machines for example, a sandwich factory. As it is more efficient to use machines and computers than humans, as machines can run all day and can produce double of what humans produce. Therefore this leads to job cuts and unhappy employees, which also leads to low economy as other businesses will be affected as their average customer count will decrease. Tambir Ahmed - A42134

INEQUALITY IN BROADBAND ACCESS The inequality in broadband access, is that companies and businesses in the populated town and city areas have internet access, whereas in village and farm areas most broadband companies do not reach out to them, There is not much of a high demand and not much profit in setting it up in village areas, therefore companies that set up out of commercial areas do not have access to broadband. Tambir Ahmed - A42134

POTENTIAL THREATS Viruses These are computer infections, which is designed to take personal details and also slow your computer down, this occurs when s with attachments are opened which were sent from an unknown sender, or even a software downloaded from the internet, and these viruses enter the computer and infect it. Cyber Bullying This is a type of bullying which occurs over the internet; through social network sites and instant messengers, and anyone of any age could be affected, as abusive text can emotional hurt anyone. This could make someone uncomfortable in there own home, and therefore this could be a potential threat. Tambir Ahmed - A42134
