 Florida Standards Assessments were developed to measure student success with the new Florida State Standards, adopted in 2014, and implemented into instruction this school year.  The subjects assessed in 3 rd grade are English Language Arts and Math.

2015 FSA Schedule 3 rd Grade Monday, March 23 Math – Session 1 80 minutes Tuesday, March 24 Math– Session 2 80 minutes Wednesday, March 25 ELA– Session 1 80 minutes Thursday, March 26 ELA– Session 2 80 minutes Note: Students will be given short stretch/water/restroom breaks during sessions

FSA-ELA Students will read multiple passages ranging from words and respond to questions in multiple formats including… Multiple Choice Multi-select: More than one answer should be chosen Graphic Response: Drawing lines between matching words or phrases Editing Task: Choose the correct word or phrase to fill in each blank in a passage Two-Part Question: The two parts may either be multiple choice or multi-select Note: See handout for sample questions

How can I help my child? 1. Encourage and Praise! 2. Regular attendance is so important! 3. Your child should be at school on time, well rested, and prepared every day. 4. Encourage your child to do their best, take their time, and check over their homework. 5. Have your child eat a healthy breakfast, it is an essential part of their day. 6. Create a quiet, comfortable place to study at home. 7. Provide books, children’s magazines, and other materials for your child to read at home. 8. Balance recreation and study time.
