Do Now Complete sentences What 6 vocabulary words have you used in your comic strip? If you haven’t used 6 what vocabulary can you use in your comic to make it more academically relatable to the rock cycle?

Standards 6.6b, 6.6c Students will learn about the materials –minerals and rocks –rocks that make up the planet’s surface, the natural origin of these materials, and how these materials are used to make common objects.

Learning Outcome. I can describe characteristics of minerals. I can identify the three major groups of rocks and explain how they form via the rock cycle. I can explain how minerals and rocks are processed and list ways these materials are used.

Homework Update your composition book, make sure you have the header and dates for all pages, let’s have a great start to chapter two. Check to make sure fold--ables are pasted down.
