Characters NNNNag and Nagaina are Cobras TTTThey are cunning and wicked

Darzee and His Wife  Tailor Birds

Chuchundra  Muskrat who is so afraid he won’t go to the center of the room. He warns Rikki about the Cobras’ plan.

Karait- Snake  Small Snake paralyzed by Rikki’s bite and beaten by the Big Man with a stick.

Setting TTTThis story takes place at a big bungalow in Segowlee cantonment in India. Late 1800’s TTTThere is a large garden next to the house where Rikki- tikki battles Nag and Nagaina.

Conflict NNNNag and Nagaina are trying to kill the family members. Rikki-tikki’s job is to protect the family. When the snakes attack Rikki-tikki tries to kill them.

Foreshadowing TTTThis story foreshadows an event when Teddy’s mother says that she shudders to think of snakes being in the house and trying to kill Teddy.

Climax  The Climax of the story is when Rikki Tikki confronts Nagaina on the veranda before she bites Teddy.
