Timescales Involved Planning Ahead One-two months before the auction go live date Plan ahead Allow enough time to approach donors and secure items for auction Once the item is secured, photograph the item Two weeks before the auction go live date Submit all print or online advertising banners for your campaign Calculate shipping costs for each item One week before the auction go live date Start listing and schedule your items in your eBay account for go live During the auction Special auctions typically last for 10 days to maximise exposure Monitor bidding and respond to customer enquiries promptly After auction end Ship items to the buyers as quickly as possible once payment is received. 1-3 days is an acceptable amount of time for dispatch. Any longer and buyers could potentially leave negative feedback. Always communicate any delays.
