Morocco cultural is deeply rooted in Islam. Moroccans value family, honor, dignity, generosity, and hospitality. Moroccans generally shake hands when greeting each other. Items are passed with the right hand or with both hands, not with the left. Guests are generally offered refreshments, and it is impolite to refuse them.

The Kingdom of Morocco recovered its political independence from France on March 2, A manifesto of the Istiqlal (Independence) Party in 1944 was one of the earliest public demands for independence. Through agreements with Spain in 1956 and 1958, Morocco restored control over certain Spanish-ruled areas.

FAMILY  Moroccans like to have real big family.  One’s family is a source of reputation and honor as well as financial and psychological support.  The tie between mother and son is the most important relationship.  Children are indulged but are also expected to contribute to the family by attaining a respectable position in society.  Adult children expect to care for their aging parents when it becomes necessary
