We work to make sure that nobody gets left out. If there is a problem we try to fix it.

These are some of the things we have been involved with…

The entrance doors were hard to keep open for people who use wheelchairs. Now they have been made automatic.

The old polytunnel was hard to get to because of the steps.

Now we also have an accessible polytunnel which has a ramp up to it. (Thanks Kier Western!)

Tyres and wood have been used to make raised beds.

A gate was put at the top of the ramp to make it a safe space for pupils to work in.

The doors to the rooms in school are all labelled with symbols, photos and braille.

Lower handrails were added for the little children.

Some of the thresholds have been improved to help pupils who use wheelchairs.

James and Kieran asked pupils to tell us what they are worried about. This is what they told us…

To leave school in a wheelchair or buggy you have to walk on the road because of the steps.

The polytunnels and vegetable plots get into a mess over the winter. (This is going to be sorted out soon).

Some areas of the grounds are slippery in the wet.

The wheelchair swing and roundabout need to be sorted to make them easier to use. (Phil is onto this).

The ramp and some of the doorways are quite narrow for the big wheelchairs to go through.

The hall echoes a lot. A sound engineer has visited to see if we can improve the acoustics.

Some pupils cannot see very well. Phil is going to make some tactile markers.

Some outside areas are tatty and old. We are working with the Sensory Trust and Eden to improve our grounds and make them more sensory.

So whatever we do in school or out and about we need to make sure everyone can take part.
