This fun, fast-paced class will help you: Build your project management skills Create and administer a budget for major events Understand Liquor Liability for food and beverage service operators Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with Hospitality partners Plan successful events

Meeting and Conference Planners interact with all segments of the Industry: Lodging, Transportation, F&B, Convention Management Photo courtesy of: aosconventions.com Important Tips: Terminology --Every industry has its own jargon. Know it well! --Professional Conference Organizer (PCO) is interchangeable; aka Professional Meeting Planner Know your audience --When planning an event, you have to know who is attending --You wouldn’t hire a clown for the CEO luncheon, unless it made sense to add humor to prove a point Have a Theme

Economic Impact on Hospitality Management Organizations Be prepared to discuss the influence of the weak dollar on travel to and from the U.S. in your weekly assignments (many offer incentives) Learn to administer a budget – it is a critical skill for a PCO

In Unit one we’ll discuss the roles and responsibilities of a Professional Convention Organizer (PCO) aka Meeting Planner and explore some of the places one can work in this field.

In Units 2 and 3 we’ll discuss meeting logistics and how to work with industry partners. In unit 4 we’ll examine how to do the Budget for meetings

Any Questions? Concerns?
