Why Are We Here Today!  Raise awareness of Autism  Raise awareness of treatment options  What is the Son-Rise program  What our children can offer you  What you could offer our children  Why is this important to you

What is Autism  Children have inflamed Intestines – is this a Digestive Disorder?  Children are sensitive to sound, light, smell and taste – is this a Sensory Integration Dysfunction?  Children display repetitive self stimulatory behavior – is this OCD, a Neurological Disorder?  Children fail to respond to social cues – is this a Relational and Social Dysfunction?  Blood tests show Lead and Mercury – is this Heavy Metal Poisoning?

Prevalence of Autism  New Jersey has the highest ASD prevalence rate - one in 94 children (CDC 2005)  Rates are much higher than the CDC estimates – Autism Research Institute  What is the probability of a person in this room having a child with Autism?  What can you do to reduce your risk?

Positions Available  Angel – 4 hrs/wk – some paid positions  Volunteer to baby sit a sibling – 2 hrs/wk  Volunteer to post flyers – 1 hr/wk  Volunteer for other tasks – 2hrs/wk  Help us find volunteers – 1hr/wk
