Establishing Clear Boundaries  New Ministries are formulating a matrix that will color the quality of life for their entire history.  Values are expressed through clear boundaries  Safety of children  Zero manipulation  Roles have expectations  Trust is critical to healthy community

Some Areas to Consider  Safety of children and youth  Professional guidelines  Sexual boundaries  Social Media  Internet Pornography

4 characteristics of a boundary violation  Roles are reversed  Double bind occurs  A secret is involved  Professional Privilege is indulged

 Relationship of adults to youth/children  Background checks  Facility issues Safety for Children

Sexual Boundaries  Never appropriate to cross sexual boundaries with parishioners  Watch for your own stress levels  Find someone with whom you can express and check your feelings
